Since the 1870s, The Whitechapel Mission has been serving Londoner's experiencing homelessness, hunger and other crises. Each meal and every service is an invitation to join our community programs that help guests make progress towards individual goals such as regaining sobriety, reconnecting with family and preparing for work and independent living.

Free Hot, Nutritious Meals

Each year, The Whitechapel Mission serves more than 102,243 meals to guests experiencing homelessness, poverty and other crises in the London area. Our staff offer nutritious breakfasts and lunches served by thousands of volunteers each year. Since each meal costs us only £0.50 to prepare at the Mission, a gift of just £10.00 feeds 20 hungry guests (given free of charge).

Free Clean Clothing

Each year, The Whitechapel Mission provides more than 200,000 articles of clean clothing to guests who need warmth, comfort and renewed dignity. Thanks to generous supporters, people in need can receive a variety of clothing, such as casual wear for every day or professional attire for job interviews.

Free Medical Care

The Whitechapel Mission offers free access to dental care, pediatrists, TB screening, Hepatitis C, B and HIV screening and basic medical care staffed by NHS doctors and nurses. Each year, The Whitechapel Mission provides 2,400 onsite medical and optometry exams

Free Advice and Counselling

Each year, The Whitechapel Mission provides advice and counselling to over 2,000 guests who are looking for support in finding housing, benefits and employment. Thanks to generous supporters, we have increased the size of our advice team and added a new computer suite.
